NBSS head unit in NBS truck

\i was wondering if its possible to install a 2007-2013 head unit in my 2006 silverado... the reason why im asking is that i have some light out in my stock unit and found a unit out of a 2008 avalanche. I dont mind doing some wiring if i have to. let me know if its been done!

I doubt it, be easier to just find a nice aftermarket deck...the NBS head unit is not really that awesome compared to a decent Pioneer or Kenwood, and Pioneer does have some double din units for just radio/cd/mp3

i really enjoy the "stock" look and also like the fact that there is a aux input on the front

No...2007+ will not fit/work in an 06. A HU from an 07 Classic will, but not the NNBS 07.

Factory units suck compared to most Kenwood and alpine units. $180 will get you one with bluetooth phone connection, USB input, and an aux cable input. I would have one already, but my truck is Bose and I don't feel like paying $220 for the adapters.
