Filters and Capacities

I'm curious to what the capacities are for the transmission, rear diff, and cooling system. Also whether or not to use the AC Delco filter for the transmission. If I should what part number.

 

I want to use Royal Purple in the diff and transmission. I want to go full synthetic. I can get it cheaper online than Mobil 1. I also want to run 50/50 of DexCool and distilled water or 30% DexCool/70% distilled water, with some Purple Ice.

 

Also want to change to an SLP 160 degree thermostat.

 

Any issues with this or better recommendations

Why do you want to change to a lower temp thermostat? Is your truck reprogrammed to use a lower temp stat? I would stay away from a low temp stat if you dont reprogram the truck for it. Your gas mileage will more than likely go down with it.

I will be reprogramming. But I don't have electric fans so what requires a 185 degree thermostat. I am already tuned with an autocal

 

I want to change it to keep temps down. Its been 110 here and with towing the temps hit 230 occasionally on inclines

Usually with temps that high it's already moving as much water as it can. At least that's my understanding.

I'm not too worried about the slight loss in economy. It was just an idea. Ill have to talk to Justin and see what gains and losses. Also if ill need to retune with an engine driven fan

If you want lower temps, get a radiator with more heat transfer capacity. It's really pretty simple.
