XM radio for Canadians??

Ok, I purchased my truck back in February 2nd hand from a local dealer. You get 3 months of OnStar and what I believed is 3 months of XM. Due to some issues with Onstar within the first week of me getting the truck, they tossed on 3 extra months. That's up next week I believe. My question is, is the XM sub attached to my Onstar sub? When my Onstar sub ends, is my XM cut off as well?

Ive been watching the web, looking at XM deals, and found a few, but I'd rather not sub to anything until I know Im going to be cut off. Ive heard of a few people who never paid, and XM never cut them off for some amount of time.

Flip side, I'd rather not pay any activation fee's as well if I am cut off.

Make sense? :P

XM is totally seperate from your Onstar sub. If they kill your XM, there should be no activation fee if you want to re-subscribe.

Sirius and XM are of course the same company. Sirius ultimately offers you $30 or so for 6mo or at least 1/2 price for a year. I expect the same from XM when my Sierra 1st year included runs out but if they don't, I will cancel.

First of all, Sirius and XM are not in the business of giving their product away for free. Those people who claim they get it for free have not kept their radio on long enough to get a "kill signal". Those signals are sent out on a regular basis.

There are plenty of discounts (as mentioned) out there for the asking. You have to tell them you wish to cancel the service, and you will get a discount. Another way is to let the subscription expire, and they usually send out a "come back" letter at a steep discount for service.

A "reactivation fee" is normal operating procedure. However, that too can be waived if you balk at this fee.

I am a 7 year plus subscriber and have had up to three radios on the service. I currently have two radios on the service, so I have been through all the games with them and have NEVER PAID FULL PRICE.
