Driving home last night with no issues my SES light came on. I turned off my radio and listened for anything odd tranny shifts engine all running like normal no sputtering or anything. I decided to run through my information center checking tire PSI n such and came across the engine hours and it read 2700.0 on the dot. This seems like something preset but I cannot find any information on this so I am looking to other GM owners for some insite on this.

the SES light will never come on for any sort of maintenance/engine hours issue. Most of the time when it is on you'll never feel/notice anything being wrong. Get it scanned, Autozone and similar places will do it for free if you don't have a scan tool.

I noticed here in California, it is now............how do I put it...................we are not allowed to scan vehicles at Autozone or other parts houses.

I took my truck to several places when the light came on and they would not check it.

It must be a California thing.

I finally had to take it to the dealer and since the truck was still under warranty, there was no charge.

They had told me the gas cap was loose, but I had checked it several times.

Yeah California is stupid about that. I actually have my own scan tool I bought for $150 years ago. You can get a similar one for half that now.
