Installed my OGM1 today, well I started last night... The head unit, mic, and GPS adapter were a breeze to install. However installing the camera was a PITA! It was tedious work. Running the wires, drilling and snapping panels was no joke! If I had no experience with this I'd have ran to local shop to have it done. But I needy bragging rights.

Its crazy though, everything was really plug and play, no adapters or crazy extra steps to keep this looking stock. The rear camera though isn't for the faint of heart. Be prepared to do some real work.

Special thanks to Walt for his customer service and level of detailed information to make this a project I wasn't nervous to take on. I really appreciate your effort!

It is the CS-ulm1 universal lip mount camera, from ADC Mobile. They sell it 9 bucks cheaper than competition. It is mounted on the tailgate right above the License Plate (The screws go upright..) This is where the OEM LTZ Tahoe Camera sits... Almost looks like factory...

Just took this one in the rain hope you can see the camera. Adcmobile sells them for 160. It is mounted under the emblem under the lip. Hence lip mount camera. I took a night shot too in total darkness with my backup light being the only illumination and it was brighter than what my naked eyes could see. Walt said it has night vision. I'm really impressed with the camera.

what navigation is the radio running. I have the OGM1 as well, but mine looks much different.

That's the same iGo Nav only it's running in night mode...

Good to see you got the OGM1 and the camera in! Night vision is amazing on that camera...

I think you nailed it in your comments: nothing is especially hard about the camera install, it's just very tedious work that you really can't take too much of a shortcut on.

Did you use my tip about fishing the camera cable through the big grommet in the tailgate?

I keep threatening to document that install with pictures and video but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Did you take any video or pics of the tailgate camera install?

Unfortunately I didn't. I started with the intention but my patience got the best of me and couldn't record and install simultaneously. Plus I started at night (silly me) so working in darkness was aggravating enough. I did fish the camera cable through the tailgate grommet, no cable or anything in sight. Looks stock if not for the camera itself not being OEM. Thanks again sir!

I'm kiinda glad to see I am not the only one with problems with the backup camera. I bought the OGM1 and backup camera from ADC and Walt and let me tell you - you will not get better support and such from anyone else. Thanks Walt!!

The problem I refer to with the backup camera. I find that it washes out pretty bad in bright sunlight. Look at post #2 above at picture #5(IMG_0299.JPG) I actually had someone walk by the rear about 25 feet away and I could not make out their skin color. They showed as a white human shaped blob. Mine also seems to be out of focus. Not sharp. At night, the picture is usable but very grainy(alot of static). All this aside, it does work and gives me capabilities I did not have before. This is the camera from camera-source. Maybe I just got the older CCD version instead of the "Super CMOS" version.

As for the OGM1, I really like it. I have used the factory NAV units and the OGM1 blows them away. Walt has provided very good videos for install and using this unit. It really is a pretty easy install.

can you take a another picture of the mounted camera. Ive been looking for something like this. How much was the camera?

That mount wouldn't work well on a pickup, it'd sit too low I think. You'd be best off getting the OE-style one in the tailgate handle.

Oh Actually the image was fine... That was flash from my iPhone 5, I am pretty happy with the image quality.

I decided to join this forum after several emails and phone calls....just to say THANK YOU.

I haven't purchased this unit but I'm sold on it. I read on two or three different forums about this unit. So I decided to give Walt (www.adcmobile.com) a call after sending him two or three lengthy emails. I have a particular setup that I was trying to do. He was helpful enough to explain how I need to go about it. Not sure why he gave me all the help since I haven't even bought from him yet. I have existing monitors (phillips 9") they only work from an apple connection. Walt and I were discussing how to use the exisiting monitors with whatever deck i choose and adding a backup camera. Great support and a wealth of knowledge.

There are so many people in our business that won't help you UNLESS you buy from them, that it makes me wonder WHY you would buy from them if they don't help you in the first place...
