I switched from reg Vavoline to MAXLife Vavoline, guessing it can only help my engine, now at 169,141. Sticking with my AC Delco 1218 Filter though!

I put MaxLife in our Camry this last time, so I'll se what I think of it. I would put Mobil 1 in it, but I am afraid it would leak. Plus, since I hate the car, it doesn't deserve Mobil 1.

I have never run Valvoline in any vehicle till now.  I'm currently running it in my wifes Honda van.  I think all dino oils are pretty much the same anymore, and the quick lube place is only a few blocks from the house so I figured I'd give it a try.  I hope I'm right...

haha what yr is it?  My grandpa has owned camrys since the early 80s and his current one is a 2000.  He has had some problems with it and doesnt really like it.

I can tell that over the yrs the camrys quality has really taken a dip

It's a '97 and I agree that the quality isn't there like it used to be. Plus, the seats in those things suck. I always get a sore neck, or shoulder, or headache when I have to ride in that thing. I don't ride in it very often at all. We take my truck when we go places as a family.

The list of problems on the Camry is pretty long, though.

I have run Mobil 1 in this truck since my first oil change (truck was bought used so that was at 70k )

No leaking so far .

In fact we only run Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil in our pickups, heavy trucks, and equipment get a good price on it too (55 gal drums).

I use Valvoline DuraBlend 5w30. Their website suggests to switch to MaxLife at 75,000 miles. I only have about 12,000 on the truck, but sent them an e-mail anyway asking when I should change to MaxLife. They replied "no need to switch to MaxLife unless oil leaks develop or there are oil consumption issues".

I started using synthetic in my 95 Silverado at 70,000 miles. The oil company tech gave me a case to try. changed it again at 73,000 miles and not long after that oil started leaking.

at 79,000 miles I could' stand to see the oil running down the driveway anymore nd took it to the dealer for repair. they replaced the  oil filter adapter orings and the oil cooler lines and intake gaskets. Fixed the leaks, but I always suspected that the synthetic oil triggered the flood. I used Valolene synthetic blend after that and sold the truck at 150,000 miles.

My new 2003 2500 HD 6.0 was at 4400 miles last wek when I changed oil and used Mobile 1. Thats all I intend to use fron here on out. I towed my 17' travel trailer to the desert and back. Was out there for four days. The truck hauled that load (6000 lb. unloaded) ovet the mountian pass in tow /haul ,third gear with no sweat. My old truck with the 5.7 used to really strain over the pass.
