2009 heater controls not working

Had this in at the dealer 3 times with no results. my heater controls for my defrost vent and floor stop working i can cycle the switch with no results. most the time it is stuck on defrost and floor when it does work what ever it stops at is where it stays. if i have my switch on vent and i select re-cycled air that works and when i switch it to defrost it auto selects fresh air but the air remains coming from the vent not defrost. any ideas?

no i took it in a few times for this and it worked for them everytime

disconnect the battery ,wait abit and reconnect ,go inside the cabin and listen to the motors relearning with key out of ign,

 

if that doesnt work ,you are buggered and have to take it to have codes read and diagnosed

+1 on this method. I had to do the procedure 2 or three times for everything to properly reset. Try by disconnecting the battery, let it sit for a minute or two. Reconnect the battery, turn the key to the "on" position, but do not start the vehicle. You should hear the motors moving inside the dash. Let it go for at least a minute. Start the vehicle and see if it worked. After the first reset try I moved the temp setting all the way to the coldest setting and the the vent control to the dash setting. I then repeated the process with disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and turning the the key to the on position.

 

My controls got confused when my engine was apart for new heads and it sat for 3 months.
