I have 2003 chevy 2500 4x4 with the 6.0 and when i just started truck the gas guage read super way past full all the way pointing down and the trans temp guage is read close to 300 but the truck is running at normal temp. Is there a fuse or possible loose wire. HELP

Mine did that before i changed the ignition switch, And everyonce and a while my display will say " service 4wd" then goes away..

I think im just going to buy a new gauge cluster/assembly when i get the xtra cash..

Try disconecting the battery for a couple mins and see what happens,

Unhooking the battery did not do anything. The gas guage and the transmission guages are the only things affected. both are pegged to the right. What would cause this? HELP...

Bad stepper motors. common on 03-06 trucks. there was a TSB on this. My cluster was replaced under warranty

Had my 04' instrument cluster rebuilt, i was at 108k miles on a 10/100k warranty!

When you come to a stop, does your speedo say something diff? Mine would show that I was going 160mph, at a dead stop

Had that happen to my 05. Started with the oil pressure going to 180PSI and then, commonly reaching 0PSI after driving to work. Then the trans temp. It could start at 250F before I even left the driveway from it sitting overnight.

Had the cluster rebuilt and it works like a charm now. $125 including shipping.

There was a recall on instrument clusters several years ago. My speedo stuck at 60 MPH and I took it in to get it fixed. Mine was under warranty, but I still had to pay $100 for some reason. About a year later, I got a notice in the mail about a recall and got my $100 back. I have an '04 ext cab silverado.

Summit racing has an OEM reman for $170 but it has a core charge of $300 that is returned when you return the serviceable part. It's more money up front but you get it back. I have an 04 2500HD and I'm experiencing the same problem. RPM, fuel, voltage all going nuts. It all started at about 90K miles.
