Left front speaker quit?

I got out of my 2007 GMC truck this morning to go to work and the speakers worked good and when i got back into it this afternoon to come home i noticed that the left front speakers were not working. The speaker in my left front door and the speaker in my windshield post stopped working. I can change the balance to the left side and can hear a very faint sound from the front speakers....I do not play my music loud so i dont believe that both of these speakers are blowed as they both went out at the same time. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what the issue might be....I want to think it maybe a wire loose or cut?...any help would be great, Thanks in advance Steve

You might have not noticed the first one go. The stock speakers don't necessarily blow, more like stop working. Had it happened to my passenger door speaker. Lots of threads on this.

How would his concern be resolved its a 2007 model year, like GM is gonna man up on a couple speakers on a 5 year old vehicle if they would, then they should fix my squeaking seat, where the front clip never stayed attached on either.

Where did you come from, why do you randomly post in threads asking if concerns were resolved when obviously the question was just asked? Or as in the other thread stating you don't help outside the US?

Your posts are redundant and quite frankly useless you seem to pick a thread randomly and then offer a useless statement for a post.

I am simply here to offer my assistance. I am a customer assistance representative. I can look into your concerns for you with the last eight of your VIN. This allows me to check into recalls or other special programs that may relate to your concern. I am not a mechanic and am not able to diagnose the concern, bit I can set up case and get in contact with dealers in certain circumstances for more assistance. My goal is to help in finding resolution. Feel free to contact me if you would like more assistance or have additional questions.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday except for the passenger side. it really sucks when one whole side's gone..

Remove the speaker and test it. I tested mine on a crappy home stereo. Or take the speaker out the try a speaker that you know works. But just so you know, gm stock stereos use a special plug on the wire end.

thanks but i dont think it is a speaker issue to be honest. The reason i say that is last Sunday the back speaker was working fine and nothing on front and when i went to work on Monday I got nothing out of the left side...no front or rear sound and while i was driving home Wednesday afternoon the front speakers started working again.....did not run over any bumps in the road ...smooth riding , it just started working again??

Well go about it how you want but as unlikely as it sounds its more likely a speaker issue where you had more than one go bad than a deck issue. Start by testing speakers there is no easy fix you have to pull panels to test anything stereo related.

When my front failed it also started working again for a day or 2.

While the panels are off, go ahead and change the OEM speakers. It will be just a matter of time before the others start failing.

    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
    • I'm sure if you went to a junkyard where you go in and pull the part off the truck yourself, not a used part place where they do it for you, you can get that part on it's own.  Depending on if and what else you would be buying, and time of day, they might even just skip over adding it as a item to the bill.
