Went to see NARC last night. Over-all Iliked it.

Violence: Blood, Blood everywhere, and Language: F-word was used every 5 minutes. In other words, not one to bring your kids to.

I liked Ray Liotta's charachter in this. He gave a great  performance.

Basically, it's the TV show "NYPD Blue", mixed with the movie  "Empire".

Ok I have a few reviews myself here

Signs - 10 out of 10.  Excellent movie.  I wouldnt really call it scary but it will spook you

Just married - 6 out of 10.  To predictable.  All the funny scenes were shown in commercials.  Still it was a funny movie.

Barbershop - 8 out of 10.  Good movie made me think of my own barbershop (especially with the talk about mullets on friday haha).  Jesse jackson and all his followers should be ashamed they wanted to edit that movie.  It wasnt as offending as they made it out to be.  It was just a few comments but they werent bad.

I want to see "Narc".  I really liked Jason Patric in the 1991 film "Rush" where he was an undercover drug cop, who got addicted.  Hopefully I'll get a chance to go see it.

I liked that to, made me jump a bunch of times, not as much as the girls I was with but still there's always those parts where things just jump out at you.  I wouldn't mind getting the DVD and getting scared all over again.  Maybe I'll have to swing by Target after work and pick it up.  I know my girlfriend wanted to see it too.

Other than that for movie reviews the only other one I've seen was Red Dragon (for movies that have come out in the last 6 months).

Red Dragon: 9 out of 10.  A little long, but still good.  My girlfriend has read all the books and loves the movies so I've been dragged to it three times (the third time I took a nice long nap through it) But, it was a good movie and if you've seen Hannibal and Silence of the Lambs it's definetly worth checking out.  I would only give it a 9 because Edward Norton's acting seemed a bit dry to me, not what I'm used to from him, but Anthony Hopkins put on a great performance.

Mom liked Jason Patrick in the '80s movie, The Lost Boys.

In that movie, he's chased by a bunch of Vampires (Lead Vampire is Kieffer Sutherland).

Geez, you make me feel old.   :smash:    But I'm glad you reminded me of it, that'll be on my next order from Columbia House DVD.   :thumb:

Yeah, I really want to see Narc - previews looked good, and I like Ray Liotta.

You guy have to see "Gangs of New York".  Daniel Day-Lewis better win big @ statue time!!

What I liked most about Signs is not purely the alien thing, but the underlying plot.  I had 2 friends say they thought it was boring - they obviously missed the point.

Check out the director's commentary on the DVD extra features - and also the deleted scenes - they're all good.

I agree w/ Jon about Edward Norton in Red Dragon - if anyone out there likes him, definitely see "The Fight Club" - it's really not at all what the preview trailer makes it out as.  As for Red Dragon itself, while I thought it was a good movie, they really spent too much time on Hannibal Lecter, who really didn't have a large part in the book, to the detriment of the Red Dragon main character.  If you want to really get a sense of Hannibal, see Silence ofthe Lambs, and then the sequel.

I could go on and on, but I won't!   :flag:

Yes, Fight Club is an awesome movie.  One of my favorite things to do is watch with someone who has never seen it before and see how long it takes them to figure it out.   :flag:

Three other movies like Elwood mentioned that are great for trying to figure out are:

sixth sense (everybody probably knows the secret by now)

memento

mulholland drive (especially mulholland drive - and Naomi Watts is easy on the eyes too).

As far as staying true to the books Hannibal was way off base.  The whole ending was nothing like the book from what I hear (I've only seen the movies, but my gf read all the books).  I guess Hannibal and Clarice hook up at the end instead of him chopping off his hand.

Memento, definetly another weird movie that kept you going.  I like the suspensful movies that will keep you guessing.  It's defiently worth renting.

Other movies I've seen recently that are a little order but really really good (that I thought at least) are:

Impostor, which is a sci-fi thriller.  Good story, great acting, and it still keeps you on the edge of your seat.  The main character's name escapes me, but he's been in several other big movies.

Frailty, I had actually never heard of it but it caught my eye.  Very suspenseful movie starring Matthew McConeghy (however you spell it).  It kept me going right up until the end.  I was actually going to watch it again.

Those were the good movies.  I've seen several sucky ones as well:

Jason X, I mean, it was just pathetic.

I'll have to list some more later, gotta run.
