OGM1 Cannot Detect SD Card Anymore! Video Inside

I'm having an issue with my newly purchased ogm1. I installed it the other night and everything worked as disired. The next time I tried to use the navigation it would not work. I recieved a message "file path does not exist." Another fellow posted a video on youtube (

) that explains my exact problems. I tried to reload the firmware but the ogm1 will not read/recognize the card there either and I recieve this message "Unable to detect Card, Retry? YES NO?” I ensured the card was clicked into place and clicked yes. The unit will then freeze and not shut off, even if I turn off the vehicle and open the doors. I had to pull the battery terminal. It seems the OGM1 cannot read the SD card anymore. Anyone have an idea of what would cause this? When I connect the SD Card to my computer I see the iGo navigation.exe and other various files (splash screen etc.)...

Other info:

MCU:OGM1-59-12-06-19-U1

iGO: Recognized by naviextras toolbox and says up to date (modified date of Nov. 2012)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I had a similar problem a while back with mine. Interestingly, it was as though the card wasn't making contact with the radio contacts even though it seemed to "click" into place. This doesnt solve it, but in doing some testing I found if I held the card in the slot with my finger (pushed all the way in without letting it click into place) it would recognize it when I started the car. Of course I would have to hold it in place. It doesn't solve it but does indicate where the issue may be.

I had emailed Walt and am waiting for a response. It worked when I first installed the unit, two days after The sd card was popped out for inspection and to see if the navigation.exe file was up to date, put back in, and never worked again.

Tdub did your issue ever get resolved?

Havent heard from Walt yet so I called Advent tech support. After speaking with them, and popping the card in and out multiple times etc, they also believe it is the contacts of the radio not touching the contacts of the sd card?!!

Comeon, spent all that money on a nav and it breaks day 2....darn.

Anyone try to fix this on their own? They suggested I send the unit back to the dealer it was purchased from, and ask for a new one, but I dont want to bug Walt or ADC with all of that. Is every contact slot on the sd card used? I'm going to try and perform a serious inspection of the sd slot when I get home tonight.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I had a few other issues that were happening, so Advent suggested a swap out and that's what I did.

had the same thing happen to me about 3 months ago....had a spare SD Card and copied all my files to it and it worked fine...

I had issues with mine after I copied the files to a new, larger, SD card. If I took the card out to update the maps or software, it would not be able to find the exe needed to run navigation. I put the files on another sd card, same issue. Put them back onto the original sd card and have not had an issue since. You may find it hard to contact anyone this week. If you changed the sd card, go back to the original one and see if that works. Make sure navitools can see the card as well on your pc.
