2011 silverado bad heater core

So I get in my truck this morning to go to work after I warmed it up some. The interior smelled of antifreeze. As I drove to work the windows kept getting progressively more foggy and the defroster wouldn’t do anything. I had to keep wiping the window in order to see. I ended up at the dealer and they called me that I have a bad heater core-6 hr job. Good thing I’m under warranty but on a 2011 truck with 15k miles-WTF? Anyone else have this problem? I hope it’s not a sign of things to come. Last week I had her in the dealer for a bad tire sensor and now this. I hope I didn’t get a lemon! I had a 03 Tahoe once that always had something wrong with it. I swore I’d never get another chevy but I also didn’t want to pay 50k for a Ford or Toyota. Got mine for 32k. It’s a 4x4 Z71 Crew. Thanks for any input……

Discouraging I'm sure, but you may have just hit a bad part. I had a power steering pump go bad on my last truck during warranty.

Maybe it was just a "BAD" connection issue, and not an actual failing heater core???

A GM tech would get paid to "R&R" a heater core if this was the case- Just to get at the source of the problem.

When you pick up your truck (after the reapir is completed), check & see if a GM "warrantied part" is build out on the repair order. :happysad:
