Hawk LTS vs. Ceramic pads

Recommended Posts

I'm upgrading my brakes and I'm going with Powerslot slotted rotors up front. I'm pretty sure I want to go with Hawk pads but not sure if the Hawk LTS or the Hawk Ceramic pads would be the better way to go. Which would be better? Does one have better "bite" or stopping power over the other?

I've also been reading about Akebono pads as well. How do those compare to Hawk and even the stock brakes when it comes to dust, stopping power and life?

The Hawk's will stop better, the ceramics are low noise and low dust

I went with Hawk street performance, which I think would be equivalent to LTS, when I put Powerslot slotted on my '04 'Vette, and that was one helluva combination! In one case, I'm sure they made the difference between a triple digit ticket and loss of my automobile that would have happened with the stock brakes and the one for 10 over that I ended up with on the HPS/Powerslot setup. Yeah, good brakes will pay for themselves.

I put Hawks and Powerslots on all 4 wheels on my 2000. IIRC I think I used the LTS's and they were ceramic. Virtually no dust. They worked well with my slide in camper with total weight @9800#.

What I had came in the green box. There stuff was boxed in different colors for different compounds.
