85wrangler Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Does anyone have a pic of a stock 265/70/17 and a stock 275/55/20 with no mods or leveling. I'd like to see the difference. According to the charts the two setups will give me almost the same wheel size.
Chris Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I can show you a 275/55R20 with a level and a 265/75R16 which is the same size as a 265/70R17 275/55R20 with a level My truck without a level and 265/75R16
85wrangler Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 In your honest opinion, do you think what I'm going to do will make a big difference in the look of my truck or should I just put bigger tires on my 17' rims? I've been looking at this on ebay, if I decide to go to 20`s http://www.ebay.com/...f08d938&vxp=mtr, what do you think. Mine is a 2012, but your truck looks awesome from the way the wheel wells a filled up.
Chris Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 What you will notice most about the 20's is the width. They're only 10 mm wider but look like more. It makes a huge difference. Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
Chris Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I went with a brand name level. I don't know anything about the off brand ones. Most people on here use the rough country kit. I have a level and stock size 20's. Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
85wrangler Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Ok, here it is. I'm going to buy a set of 20" rims and thinking about this kit, http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-5-FRONT-STRUT-3-REAR-BLOCK-U-BOLT-LIFT-KIT-4X4-4WD-4X2-2WD-2-2-25-INCH-Z71-/181062574803?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012|Make%3AGMC|Model%3ASierra+1500&hash=item2a282ba2d3&vxp=mtr what size tire would I be safe to buy, with no chance of rubbing. Appreciate the input, thanks
Chris Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I think you will be good with a 275/60 or a 285/55 Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2
Frogfish Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Ok, here it is. I'm going to buy a set of 20" rims and thinking about this kit, http://www.ebay.com/...82ba2d3&vxp=mtr what size tire would I be safe to buy, with no chance of rubbing. Appreciate the input, thanks $260 for that??? You can get a TGC 2.5" level and Zone blocks/ubolts for less. IMO I'd run the 2.5" level and keep the stock block
85wrangler Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 would I be able to run 275/60/ 20's with just the level? The tire calculator shows 33" high.
85wrangler Posted January 22, 2013 Author Posted January 22, 2013 So what would be an equivalent 17" tire size, I've got 17's now that I'm using for winter and I'd like to keep the same look.
