dont put one of those cheap ones on that you bolt to the tow hooks.. they look stupid (IMO).

a ranchhand bumper replacement style would be the way to go looks wise.. one like kstruckcountry has. im sure he will chime in soon.

i would leave that truck the way it is, great looking truck.

As promised, lol.

What you get depends on what you want it for. Any one will do if all you want to do is put some lights or something on it. If you want it just for looks, buy the cheapest one you think looks good.

If you want protection, though, the bumper is more likely to be damaged than the actual grill, especially if your truck is lifted. So if cost is an issue you could get away with an aftermarket bumper, with just a hoop for the grille to hide behind.

But steel costs $$$, so if you want something quality you have to pay for it (or make it yourself), like Z71AST did. Thunderstruck's grille guards were ~$550 when I was looking, and the full replacements were $950. I'm assuming you're from TX by your sig, and I've seen grille guards and front end replacements down there that were made from the same plans as mine, so I'm assuming there's a few places down there that make them too. Mine is powder coated, and has held up great so far. For a non lifted truck, mine gets a lot of attention (some even positive!) because of the replacement. It's good peace of mind knowing if you hit a deer it won't cost you a ton to fix the truck. Here's another pic of mine and a friend's, both with the Thunderstruck style bumper/guard.

PS: They look awesome from the cab

Get you a Warn Trans4mer, the normally cost 700+ bucks but i got mine off criagslist for 200 bucks and had to spend 100 bucks on some brackets for it, but its strong as hell. I've ran into everything from trees to street signs to cement walls and it is still in perfect shape. Plus it can hold a winch.

some nice looking gmt800's. really like the white one, do you happen to know what tires those are?

My ears are burning.

Here is mine with a Thunderstruck guard. It was good and heavy, but I didnt like the look of it that much. It looked kinda like it was too big for the truck. So, I went with a custom fabbed model. The first one cost me around $180. Then I body lifted the truck and decided to do another one since I had someone that wanted my first one. Made enough money off the first to build the second basically for free, and I trird some slightly different design features. Only recently added the guard to it.

There are several companies that copy the Ranch Hand designs like "Cattleman" and others that can be had a little cheaper. Some of them are slightly different in design, so there may be some you like better than others. Just be careful and dont assume that the copies are cheaper, because our local dealer can get real Ranch Hands cheaper than the knock-offs.

They were Trail Grapplers in 295. And yes, they rubbed a lot. In that pic it's just riding on a t-bar crank. I think 285's would have worked better, the 295's were just too much tire since the truck wasn't lifted and had pretty steep gears.

That one looks like it fits better than mine did. I must have had one for a 2500 or something.

hmm they look like a good size. might be my next tires. he was pretty brave getting 295 on stock keys

He had 1.5" spacers to put them out a little. They looked really good on the truck. I've always liked the stuffed look. It just needed a few changes (gears, steering stabilizer). Now it's riding on 265's and no grille guard. He sold it.

i cant decide on 285's or 295's next time around. you need to level your truck and throw some 285's on it, it will look awesome

I'm actually saving to buy a GMT400 to lift and put big tires on. It could be a few years. This truck spends a lot of time on the highway these days, and even with straight tread highway tires it's a beast in the mud. I thought about 285's, but I'm going to put on beefy 265 AT's.

The only thing I had to have was the bumper
