TCC Lock up for 4L80E

I tried searching here to little avail. I am hoping there are a few pro GM wrenches looking. I just got done talking to a mechanic friend of mine about increasing my mpg on my truck. He suggested that the torque converter has an extremely high stall, and locking it earlier may help me out. I found this: http://heathdiesel.c...with-the-4l80e/ , but don't know if it could be applied to my truck. I am also not thrilled with the idea of having to remember to hit the switch all the time. If something would automatically disengage the switch say below 30 mph via VSS (just thinking aloud), that setup would be perfect.

Here's what I have:

'02 4x4 ext. cab 2500HD w/ 4L80E trans. (about 190k mi.)

Cold air intake (forget who's)

TB spacer

Magnaflow 2-3" into 4" exhaust

Edelbrock shorty headers

MSD plug wires

Mastercraft Courser AXT 10ply 265/75-16 tires (75psi-rear, 60 psi front)

I've done a bunch of searching around the 'net today, and have come up short. Most of the programmers have love it or hate it reviews, and cost around $400 for questionable gains. Could it really be as simple as a switch? A gear swap is out as I use my truck as a truck (snow plow, heavy haul, and tow), but it's also my DD. Any input would be appreciated.

so the link wont open for me ,but what i figure is you want to manually turn on the TC ,,,,that can be done very easy by grounding the TC wire but remembering to turn it off at a stop sign is the kicker ,,,,,,,,,

i know this because my TC in my old truck was a little intermittent ,i put a switch in and worked great till the whole truck bucks near a stop sign lol

milage and a 6.0 L gaser should never be in the same sentence, imo lol

it wont save you any money or get better milage,,,you should pass

IMO if they took off my two overdrive gears in my 6 speed tranni, I would get better milage(i really do not care)

since i have to put the throttle down to keep it at speed, versus a 3 speed tranny where it would cruise in third gear and stay in, and the power would be less fluctuating. I had better milage in the old tranny set ups then with all this overdrive crap on hills, etc. searching for gears and rev's all over the place.

Gettting back, Govtech 4 has my vote , YET AGAIN !!

You must have 3.08 gears?

lq4, 2500hd, 4l80e...these are all words that don't belong in the same sentence as better fuel economy.

Doesn't matter what you do to a 6 litre, you ain't gonna get good fuel mileage bud. Trust me. The most you'll ever gain is from tuning, and that's a modest 1-1.5mpg...
