You will need a new radio that will need to be unlocked by the dealership.

moving to the audio section. Also take a look in here there are a few topics on people making this change.

If your radio has a usb port in the back then all you have to do is buy the cable, and the usb port. GMpartsdirect sells them for cheap but they gouge you on shipping. 20983937 and 20944422 are the part numbers for the usb port and the receptacle that goes in the cigeratte lighter to convert the cig port to usb, found this on ebay for 33.00 with free shipping. 22829189 is the part number for the cable, I have found this on multiple websites but no one has them instock so I had to go to gmpartsdirect.com, it was like 13 for the cable and 12 for the shipping, rediculous. The USB port is a dealer installed option so you might check with your local dealer to see if they have any instock.

If your radio does not have a USB port installed then you can get a replacement factory radio from OEMradios.com or replacementradios.com for farely cheap.

I just did this conversion in my 2007 Tahoe because it allows me to navigate the music on my iphone from my steering wheel controls.

If you do buy a radio from those websites do you still have to get it programmed, at the dealer, to your truck?

The radio that I bought did not have to be reprogrammed by the dealer in order for it to work, it was already unlocked so all I had to do was plug it in. I did however have to have the vehicle re-flashed with the new radio RPO code in order for the vehicle warning signals (the dinging sound that goes off when you don't buckle your seat belt) because those sounds come through the radio to the front left speaker. GM charged me 51.00 for this.

If the radio is already assigned to a VIN then it will have to be unlocked by GM, it should say on the listing if it has to be unlocked or not.

If your truck didn't come with USB then the radio in it won't have a USB port on the back. You'd need to swap the radio, add the cable and add the USB port.
