Intermittent Front End Highway Vibration

I wish I could report with an actual diagnosis, but when the mechanic had my truck, it wouldn't vibrate for him at all. He did his best to diagnose it and said that he thinks the transfer case is likely on its way out. He said there is a lot of slop in the rear driveshaft out of the t-case, which indicates other issues in addition to being an issue itself. He suspects the intermittant vibration is coming from the t-case, but couldn't be sure since it didn't do it for him. It still does it, but it comes and goes... His recommendation was to do nothing for now and see if it gets worse. He thinks I'll need a new t-case eventually but didn't recommend replacing it now because it may not get any worse for thousands of miles. So now I'm in a waiting game to see if it becomes more frequent or severe.
