Complete body swap

hey Guys im looking at Swapping the complete body From a 91 chevy C1500 305 5 speed to a 90 gmc c2500 350 3 speed auto and was wondering about cab wiring and compatibility is it just a matter of swapping ecm and steering columb do i need to transfer complete electrcal from one cab to other. Any input would be much apreciated.

Steering column and ECM should do it. Unless your tired of shifting gears I would put the 5 speed behind it. Better fuel mileage longer engine life.

Thanks for the input Rev i went ahead and bought the chevy so im comiited now i thought about using 5 speed will the clutch housing Ect. be a direct bolt up to my 350?

Same bolt pattern on housing and flywheel. If its 3/4 ton prob has knockout in floor board for gearshift.

Strike that I guess you will already have the hole if your putting 1500 on 2500 frame.

The yoke on drive shaft may may be different on 3/4 ton. That should be your only worry. I'm just not sure about that. But a quick measure of u-joints will tell you. The 350 trams yoke may not slide in 5 speed. But spline count & measurement will take care of that also. Length of shaft may come into play but I would def try to stay with 5 speed.
