Truck wont enter program mode for keyless entry

Hello, hope someone can help me or give some advice. This started the other night when I went to lock my doors. I grabbed my set of keys and hit the lock button on my fob and I didnt hear the horn. I figured my battery must have died so I went outside and manually locked the doors. The next morning, I replaced the battery in the fob, held both buttons and nothing happened. I read in the owners manual and found that it may have became unmatched from the truck. I walked several feet away and held both button, like it said and nothing happened. The next day, I read online how to enter program mode and sync the fob and truck together. I held the unlock button, turnrd the key to on twice and released the button. The door locks didnt do anything. I held the lock and unlock on the fob and the locks cycled once. I then released the buttons, turned the ignition to on and off and no horn confirming setup complete. I've done this several times and it never really enters program mode and never honks to say complete. The last time I did this, the driver door lock didnt cycle but the passenger one did. This is on a 2002 GMC Sierra SLE extend cab. Please advise.

I have a 2002 GMC sierra 1500. The key fob quit working so I tried everything I could think of. So far, what I've gathered, my truck is not entering programing mode, to match the fob with the truck. Is there some super secret way to do it, that I haven't tried?

some other shops have a scanner that can read codes and diagnose them ,just not the dealer ,they just dont have the expertise that dealers do working on the same brand veh
