Marriottsville, MD. Hot rod was weekend was pretty good this
year. However, there were a lot more dickheads and shit talkers there this
year. Lol whats the secret weapon? I don’t want to highjack this guy’s thread,
PM me.

BTW I talked to someone at the gas station today with the
6.2L 6-speed with 3.73s. He said that he experienced the same problem as I did,
but not as dramatic. I have a 5.3L with a good old 4-speed.

not to hijack this thread but what gears did you end up going with blackout07? i know my stock gears arent cutting it with my 305's and my lil 4.8L. will i need a new carrier for new gears? i dont know much about this section of trucks

I'm pretty sure he is running 4.56's.

4.88 G2s and yes you will need a new carrier. IMO 4.88s are the only way to go with 35s. I preferred my truck with 35s and 88s as opposed to the 37s I have now. Perhaps when I finally get a proper tune and remove most of the TM I will like it better. But the plan is to eventually go back down to 35s with 12" wide wheels.

so where do you buy the whole front+rear+ carrier(s) gears? i see lots of gears on a few sites but no carriers

thanks, i appreciate it. i will check around the local parts dealers, no way is my stealership getting that much of my business... i will also give these guys a call and see what i will need exactly. stuff is confusing to me, carriers come with gears on that site, but you dont get to choose what gears, then you need to buy more gears??? wowza i need a 2nd job...

The dealer here in town quoted me over $2000 in labor, now this is with me bringing them all the necessary parts. Politely declined his offer, sure wish I had the know how to do this myself.

That is crazy! I had a local off road shop do mine and it was $1600 or so for parts and labor.

Travis, I'm sure you can call Ron's and order exactly what you need.

2010 6.2 with 35x12.50r20's on oem wheels. Rancho 4" lift (gained 5.5")

I have a BB tune and was getting 15.4 average on stock tires. After the lift I dropped .9 mpg. After the tires I dropped down to my current 13.4

With the tune I run 91 octane and with the 35's I feel like I need gears. I wish I was running 295/60r20s 34". Either way I will re-gear when I can.

6 speed with 3.42. If I keep the 35's I will be looking at 4.10, If I drop to 33's I will just live with it.

I definately do not have the umph I had before.

So you were tuned prior to the lift? Of so you need a retune if you haven't already. And don't do 4.10. You will regret it.

Yes I was tuned pre lift. I just adjusted my speedo after the tires. Called 4WP today, they recommended 4.56 with either a 34" or 35" tire.

The 15.4 was with 91 Octane and a tune. I then lifted it and dropped 1 mpg running the lift and stock tires, the next 1 mpg drop was from these heavy #$% fuel tires.

$1600 to re-gear 4.56 with G2 gears. Not currently considering a locker as I am all highway.
