Filling the holes

Recommended Posts

I had removed the plugs for the Cargo Management System mounting holes prior to having the bed-liner sprayed in. Now they won't stay in place because the bed walls are too thick to capture the plugs. Has anyone found/built a plug to help keep the dust out of the bed? This is on a 2012 2500HD long bed.

an idea I have is get some anchor screw like the picture below. Make sure the spring load nut part is bigger that the narrow part of the hole. Drill a hole in the center of the stock plastic plug and use the anchor screw to hold it in place. And then paint the screw head black. Cheap easy fix.

I think RealTruck also carries some the have a folding ring.

I haven't had mine off yet and haven't seen the back side of one but I was wondering if you might be able to knife away a little plastic/rubber from the originals to make the slot a little wider.

Not going to happen!!! Look up under the bed rails and you will see that there are some openings there that allow the air to come into the bed and I don't think that you will ever get them to seal up. :jester:

In one of the tailgate sealing kits I saw, part of the kit was some blocks of gray foam that you were supposed to stuff in those large funny shaped holes. I don't know if they stay put but it seemed like a simple solution.
