Hey guys !

My A/C (haven't tried heat because it's 100+ out today !) is colder that a witches teet but will only blow on the high setting (5).... any ideas?

thanks.

Likely a bad blower resistor. You'll want to inspect the plug too as the connector can melt.

Thanks for the reply Mike... but can you give a bit more detail..

thanks.

Mike,

I also noticed a squealing sound yesterday when the fan was on... it's not doing it today... but the fan is only working on high like I said... was that noise possibly the resistor taking it's last breath?

The resistor has no moving parts so the noise you hear may be something stuck in the blower. Everything is easy to get to on these trucks, just look up from the passenger footwell. The resistor is right next to the blower and probably has 6-8 wires going to it. My memory is a bit foggy on it but I know I had to change it on my 2003. The reason high works is because the resistor is bypassed for that speed.

Right on... I'm sure I can find it .. thanks ..

Oh, and the "plug" you mentioned... just check the wires to see if there's any damage/burn...?

Yeah. I want to say once its unplugged you'll be able to tell.
