Topper 3rd brake light

could someone please tell me how to wire the third brake light on my topper to my truck? Ive been searching all over but havent come across anything really helpful yet. I do know that i DO NOT want to run a wire all the way to the front of the truck if i dont have too. Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated! (fyi its a Jason Topper w/LED third brake and dome light inside for my 2009 Silverado.)

Thanks!

My 3rd brake light is connected to the my driverside taillight. But my dome light is wired up by the fuse box under the hood. If you have the power connected for the 7 pin trailer connector just tap into that.

ok, but my concern is how do i wire it to the taillight? I was told that our style silverado's use the same lights for brake and turn, therefore if i tap into that the light will blink when i turn my turn signal on, right?

I would get the plug that people use for there under the tailgate lights and tap that. Then your not permanently taping any wires on the truck and it will have just a brake light.

I would use your 4 pin plugin, very simple and easy to disconnect when you take the topper off.

I use both of thes ideas. I run all of my power from the trailer plug though.

I used a 4-pin trailer plug and tied it into my 7-pin wiring behind my bumper. I ran the wires through the tailight housing and out through the stake pocket hole.
