2014 - Power front seats (ventilated)?

I have had my truck almost 6 weeks now.

I notice the mechanism under the front seats seems to have more play in the pivot points than I have experienced in other vehicles.

Is that something seen on previous models of Chevy trucks, advice on how to fix to tighten up the seats to make them more solid?

I intend to use the warranty and take it in.

I was asking if this is something others experienced on GM trucks with similar seats - the pivot/hinges are not tight so the seat will move a little even when driving, and the slack (seemingly poor fit) at these points also is enough that you can hear the sound when the seat moves due to fit (an audible pop type sound from the metal). I believe, but don't know it is where the mecahnism hinges, the bolts/rivets/bushings are not well fitted.

I hoped it was something someone else had experienced in a previous model year.

Weird you say something about that just this week I have felt a popping and a bit of slack feeling in my seat mainly when I turn. Maybe we can get some others to chime in and see if its happening in others.

Same here. I've been trying to figure out where it is coming from. When I attempted to move the seat while standing outside of the truck, it felt solid. Do you all have the safety alert seat? I had a thought that the cushion might be sliding. Haven't spent too much time tracking down the problem, but it is getting irritating.

I was able to move mine just a little and the sound seemed consistent - mine moves if I slow down too quickly or take a harder turn - it is not much but I can feel it and I would like to see about getting that fixed.

I don't know what the safety alert seat is, but mine are the leather, power adjustable with ventilated/cooled seats and I can move it slightly up/down lifting on front of seat and a little from side to side, pushing on the bolster near the driver's door (I think that is what the raised pad on the edge of the seat is called, but don't know).

It moves very little, but enough to be disconcerting if unexpected.

I've not noticed that with my leather-appointed AT seats. Passengers have not mentioned anything to me either. Both seats are fully-powered.

Hello,

I see that you have some concerns about your new 2014 Silverado. Can I assist you with anything?

Safe travels,

Thank you for asking. I am going in for my 1000 mile courtesy check tomorrow and they said they would check it. I know it can't be overly tight, but I think it moves a little too much and makes a noise sometimes when it does - my thought is at least the side to side and (what I interpret as) popping can be fixed I hope but I have never see the underside of the seat in detail, hard to see under there.

But, I am certainly appreciative of any insight or input you might have on this.

Sounds like its with the lane departure seats. Guess ill take mind in one day to figure it out.

If mine has lane departure, I am unaware of it and don't see any evidence I have that.

The evidence would be a hole in your pocket book. Would show as an option of about $845 plus requires heated and cooled seats option.
