Switching to syntheticATF

Im at 62k and im thinking i probably should have already changed out all my fluids. I want to go to Amsoil Synthetic ATF. Im getting so much conflicting information. Some say a good mechanic shop can do the power flush while others say never to back flush. Are those the same thing or different things? I found another thread where they posted a fluid exchange data sheet saying that after 3 pan drop and filter changes you should only have about .6 qts of the original fluid in there. So whats the way to go? I have no issues with doing a pan drop, but is this safe with going over to the synthetic? If i do it that way, What intervals should I do my changes until i have a good percentage of synthetic in there?

Your 08' comes from factory with Dex 6 which is already synthetic. No problems with using a synthetic fluid just make sure its dex 6 compatible. A pan drop is perfectly fine and will get the majority of the old fluid out.
