Keep it as it is imo. As you've said, you can barely reach in the bed and if you have to do so often, any higher will be a bigger hassle.

 

I would save the $$$ or spend it on maintenance or other more meaningful upgrades.

Yeah, I think Ive decided just to send it back. If I still have the truck when its paid for, I may throw a 6" under it. But, odds are, I wont even have this truck in 2 years, if my wife's Tahoe holds up.

Well, it didn't take long to get bit again. I just cant help it. I really think I have a disease. Even after sending the lift back and taking a $20 restocking fee the first time, I want to buy another one. So, Im gonna resurrect this thread to see if anyone has any fresh perspective, or possibly if any new members have joined that can help and would post pictures of the modified brush guard.

Somebody's got to know where I can find some pictures of this. Im determined to figure it out.

If you can find me a SolidWorks model of the guard I could probably figure out how to modify it to fit.

I don't have pictures of it since its a whole city away and he's a truck driver but a friend of mine has a BIG dodge ram with a 3" body lift added to it and a chrome brush guard. He cut the brush guard where it straightens up after coming off the tow hook mounting positions and took some metal plates on each side and just lifted it up 3" and bolted the brush guard into place. Looks pretty good to me

Well, I know that I can figure it out, its just trying to get it to not look like a hack job, not have to hack up my bumper, and still retain some of the integrity and impact resistance of the guard. The factory bumper is really what's getting in the way. If it wasn't for having to work around that, I could get it don't no problem. Been considering the custom front replacement, but really like the brush guard look.

That really doesn't help much because the dodge mounting points are totally different.

I've seen plenty of trucks with 3 inch body lifts and a brushguard... I got a 3 inch body lift myself i bought during the summer that i was gonna run with my brush guard and winch and 35s, but the money tree fell short. Your best bet is to fabricate some brackets or contact an offroad shop who can point you in the right direction!

Yeah, there are a couple of fabrication shops here locally that the truck accessory shops recommend, but I have found that most places like that don't want to show you how to do it because they want you to bring it in and pay them to do it.

No, I thought I had it figured out, but everything I can come up with involves cutting the lower bumper facia, which I refuse to do because it would make the bumper unsellable in case I want to go with a full replacement later.
