Sierra hood molding doesn't sit flush- help please?

Recommended Posts

Guys-

Have an unusual situation. My hood molding (that chrome trim piece that runs along the front of the hood) doesn't sit flush to my hood. Nearly all Sierras I see have better fit. I've tried shoving, wiggling, but the passenger side still sits about 1/8" off the hood. I can't tell how the clips are (or aren't) coming through the slots to determine if they're engaging w/the hood.

Any thoughts would be a big help. On a black truck, the reflection makes the gap look twice as wide.

Adjust the rubber mount where the hood rests upon which is too high when closed.

( too complicated ? ) They screw up and down to allow the hood to sit properly and adjust accordingly.

If too much hood shake with highway speed raise slightly.

The hood height is fine (alignment to the fenders is great). But I needed to replace the chrome trim on the front edge of the hood (directly above the grille opening). That trim piece isn't fitting flush with the hood surface. I'll post a pic ASAP.
