Rattling noises in window?

I've got a rattling loose item types of clanging (not too loud) coming from behind the dash, under hood on driver's side that seems to be activated by wind between 25 -4ish mph. It was real windy the other day and it was erratic. 2014 Sierra crew cab slt. 4x4

I have a faint rattling noise coming from the driver window area in my 2014 silverado high country, its driving le nuts to say the least and im hoping i can get some advice on what to do here.

I already took it to the dealer but the guy said they fixed it and then as soon as i drove out the dealer, there it was. So its getting really frustrating.

Its seems like its coming from the top of the door panel (where my finger points to in the picture). When i press on it or when I push the window outwards being fully closed, it stops.

I just started hearing a faint noise from this area, too. I'll have to fiddle with it when I get a chance.

Mine could be from that area, but feels more towards the front under hood to the left up high even with steering wheel. Pushing on window doesn't stop mine. I have heard others mention your noise and I thought they said theyou had window reaealed. There are some cables for hood and brake that kinda flop around in there, but after zip tying them I still heard a rattle.

Just an update for anyone with the same rattle as me, it was most noticeable when closing my drivers door. I had some time to take the door panel off today (really easy, I don't see why everyone makes a huge deal out of the window trim clips) and inside the panel I found that my door lock had popped out of the rubber holder. I drilled some holes in the holder and zip tied it so that it couldn't come out again.

I've had a rattle in my drivers side window area since I bought the truck 9 months ago. It is weather/heat dependent and is more noticeable on colder days when the sun is out but comes and goes at other temps as well. Looks like I'll be pulling the door panel off when I get time and do some investigating.

after fixing the dash rattle and yanking out the rattling sunglasses clip thing, I now hear a faint rattle with my left ear near the driver's door. But I don't think it's the door or window glass, I think it's the trim piece on the B-pillar where you adjust the height of the seat belt. That piece seems to rattle (and has the noise I'm hearing) when I tap on it.

mine does this sometimes. If I slide it up and down it seems to go away.

I thought the seat belt adjuster was my problem as well but I don't know anymore. The rattle sometimes does go away when move the adjuster but sometimes it don't. My 2002 silvy had a ton of rattles as well but I never really noticed them because the cab was not very quiet and wind noise hid most of it. These new cabs are almost too quiet if there is such a thing.

I agree, because they're so quiet I nitpick every little noise. It could also be the weather stripping at the top of the door as well as on the b channel. Push on the top corner of the door while its closed from the outside and see if you hear a creaking.

    • Can ask that about a lot of places.   Holiday sells 91 for $1 over 87 octane. BP 93 is 80 cents. Amoco 93 is 80 cents Kwik Trips is $1.20 for 92 or whatever they have and $1 for the 91.   I know that this is not exactly same as what you are saying with the premium to premium debate of those two stations but why is there such a difference. Top Tier this and that, it's all BS. All the fuel comes from the same damn refinery, so give me a break.
    • Why does Mobil Premium cost 90 cents a gallon more than Shell Premium when their regular offerings are but pennies apart?
    • Was all the way down to $3.69 a gallon but then jumped back to $3.99 just because for some reason.   Diesel floats between $4.80's to $5.10ish a gallon. I even saw Diesel #1 for $6.09 today but nobody in there right mind even buys that in the summer.
    • Mine just keeps lagging or getting stuck on the reverse camera. When I turn off the truck, get out, and close the door it will still stay on. It’s very intermittent and I would not be able to duplicate the issue.
    • I was checking out fuel prices at my farm fuel retailer at their pumps and yes the farm price is a bit lower than the non dyed fuel and was glad to see that the regular farm gas price has dropped a lot from what it had been but what blew me away was the price of diesel as the spread now compared to before the prices went up earlier in the year, diesel was actually slightly lower than gas which was a switch from the theme the last number of years. However that sure isn't the theme lately and definitely not right now. The prices I will post are not from that retailer but just looking at gasbuddy for the main city in this area and instead of posting the lowest price someone found I will list the higher price ( and that may not be the highest price, just whatever someone posted on gasbuddy ).   So regular gas and there are a lot of stations listing the same price for regular is 1.68 a liter, premium 2.00 a liter. Diesel 2.03 a liter for a top price I saw on diesel.   Figures out to 6.36 a us gallon Canadian funds for regular and 7.68 for diesel. With the US exchange rate it would be 4.58 us for regular and 5.53 for diesel.    Thought I would figure that out to get a picture of what it settles out like compared to various US prices and its about the same as the current price in Fairbanks AK as Anchorage tends to be lower. So yes, these would be the prices and higher along the way on the Alaska highway where they know they have a captured market !, for fuel prices for those beginning the long drive back to the lower 48   The problem is our Canadian dollar and going to the states that have the high prices, boy do we pay then !
