2004 Silverado transfer case

Hey guys! I tried posting this on another forum but havent found the answer I need. I am away for work right now so I am not able to run the VIN.

 

I have a 2004 silverado 4.8l engine. Manual 4x4 shift on the floor. Automatic transmission.

 

I think I have the 4l60e transmission. Wikipedia says that the 4l80e went into the HD trucks. Am i right?

 

Also, what transfer case would my truck have?

 

I am looking for a rebuild kit for my transfer case. Do you guys recommend a website?

there are no rebuild kits that i know of ,never heard of any ,,,,the t case is typically taken out and apart and the tech provides you with an estimate for repair ,,,,,should the cost exceed the cost of a rebuilt unit ,,,that estimate will be provided for your approval to proceed

Ok well I can search for the parts I need for the transfer case. I will most likely be rebuilding it myself.

 

What transfer case would my truck have gentleman?

I have literally googled everything to try and find out what transfer case i have and i cant find nothing!

Lay under the truck and look at the stamped steel tag attached to the t case. It should be an NVG 241

ya take the vin and ask the dealer for what t case ya have,over the phone !!! ,jeeez

I would totally look at the transfer case gentleman, but I am away for work right now.

 

I just thought that there would be a specific transfer case that was used for a 2004 silverado 4.8 auto with the manual transfer case!

Its a 241. Now when you order everything and come to find you have one with a 231 I don't want to hear about it. Call your insurance company and get your vin then call a dealership with the vin and see what t case you have as govtech suggested
