Hello all, my names Matthew (aka MustBeNice), I live in west-central Minnesota. I've owned many GM's over the years. But most recently I picked up "Big Bessie", as the kids call her..... she's a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LT Z71 4x4 Crew Cab. It's Black, has the 6.0L V8, 6 Speed Tranny, 3.73 gears and Leer topper.

 

Loving this truck..... and hope to gain knowledge from this forum!

Thanks for the "Welcome" guys..... I'll have some upcoming research and questions to do & ask. As we bought this truck with the intent to tow a 5th wheel camper and/or a pup trailer with our ATV's (in tandem trailer setup - MN has a 65' max length). We'll be looking for a camper come spring!

 

I'm begining to research hitches and styles..... Gooseneck Ball (B&W Turn Over) vs. 5th Wheel Plates (Reese & Others) and the adapters to go both ways.

 

Also want to see what the "popular" and "best/most liked" spray in bed liners are........ locally I have Scorpion & Vortex to choose from, but can access them all (Rhino & LineX) in about a 50 mile radius.

Linex and Rhino are the best liners, linex is almost rock hard and durable

Thanks..... leaning towards the LineX, but want to look at all options and prices.

 

I'll also be having some tow questions in the future, related to towing a future camper, but want to start settign up the rig now to accomodate...... Gooseneck vs. 5th Wheel vs. Adapters and sliders and sidewinders and pin box extenders........ lions and tiger and bears - OH MY!

 

What's the best bet with these 6.5' boxes? I'd eventually like to see pictures and descriptions of peoples setups!!

I just have a 26 ft bumper pull that weighs like 10k. I have seen half tons with 6.5ft boxes tow small 5th wheels
