Location of 110V/USB ports on 2014 Sierra (without Console)

Hey Guys,

 

Just trying to figure out if I can live without the Console for my GMC Sierra SLE. I really want leather, but when I do the 'Build and Price' I see that I cannot select Leather buckets, I can only select Leather 40-20-40 seats (i.e. No Console).

 

Anyway, even without the console, I see that there is a 110V outlet and USB.

 

Can anyone tell me where these ports are located?

The USB or at least one of them is in the top storage compartment of the folding center seat, the 110 plug I am not sure. I texted a friend with an SLT that has 40/20/40 seats to find out if no one answers by then

On my LT Silverado it is located within the plastic below the radio and heat\ac controls, lower right side almost where the dash meets the floor.

In that first pic there are 2 usb ports, an sd card slot, i pod jack, and cigarette lighter jack. In the flip up console/ back of the middle seat. I like the the bottom of the middle seat also flips up for gun storage.

I swapped my 04 to a console. On long drives I miss the middle seat, in town I love the console. I have driven both types of SLT's. The console is nice but to me the center seat setup is more comfortable and feels like there is more room

I feel like I have more room with the flip up console. I also like the lockable underseat storage where I installed this bad boy.

Benefits of a middle seat:

 

- Feels more roomy

- Middle seat allows you to transport 6 people

- Middle seat allows you to sit beside your lady friend (My wife, who always wants to sit beside me)

- Middle seat allows you to place objects beside you (Envisions Christmas presents for kids)

- Great spot under the seat for storing a gun (Not relevant to me here in Canada

 

Benefits of a console:

 

- Lots of storage

- Looks pretty cool

- More ports

- More readily accessible ports

 

Anything else to add Gents?

CRAP! Your rings aren't lit up! Call the FBI, NAACP, FDA, TSA, Homeland Security, everyone! GM didn't light up ALL the rings around ALL the knobs in ALL the trucks, regardless of trim!

 

Other than that, I like it. I have the split bench in cocoa/dune. Had a console for 15 years and wanted a change. Enjoy!

This guy didn't buy a truck for its interior lighting, doesn't give a crap about "missing" knob lighting.

For real! What the knob actually does is clearly illuminated, which is the only part I care about. To each his own, I guess. I have had vehicles where the (power) door lock/window switches weren't illuminated, nor the steering wheel controls. That, will piss you off. Now, I always check in the dark before purchase.

You can get leather with buckets, I saw plenty of them when I was shopping back in August. For me the challenge was finding cloth with the console, which was a must have for me. The large lit storage compartment and all the power and usb ports are great.

Definitely sit in both and then decide. The seats themselves will be the same in both. I went into my purchase insisting I have a console, and ended up buying one with a bench due to the dealer stock - and am extremely glad I did. I like having the extra storage and floor space provided by the bench seat option, as well as the flexibility to squeeze up to 6 people in the truck if the need arises. I also use it when my dog rides with me in the back and I don't want her crawling all over the truck while I'm out - I can just raise the console up and it's as good as a doggie gate. I've had floor consoles in every vehicle I've ever owned, so I had this perception that the bench was the lesser option... but I'm really glad I was forced to consider it.

      What meaningful corrections were done to fix the "machining errors?"   I bet nothing, because the 6.2 is soon to be obsolete. Why would GM implement any fix let alone an "expensive one?"   Until someone can provide any convincing information that GM did ANYTHING to correct the engines - the 6.2 is no for me.    Which means keeping the 2016 Denali longer until the next generation (6.6?) proves itself.

      If my father took a Sunday off. We did the Sunday drive. Usually stopping at a Geno’s for dinner that we eat in the car. Six of us with my little sister up front. It was always a Buick growing up. In New Jersey you couldn’t get lost. Not like Texas.

      I suppose I am Atlas. It can always be worse, eh?   I had a friend once that rolled one payment into another until he was paying the price of Benz for a 10 year old back marker. Wouldn't be often you start a new payment the month following your old one.

      I still enjoy the drive   Some people fish when they retire; some golf. I drive. We've lived in the same general area now for twenty eight years and I'm still finding at least monthly some sweet quite little road to explore. When I tell the Mrs. I'm heading out for coffee she knows that could be a five hour event. Often she even goes along.    I like finding new rural routes used mainly by the locals that start nowhere in particular and end the same way. Many in the area of that type are narrow paved and twisty, hilly and run through field and timber. Often along creeks or wetlands. Unfarmable areas of great natural beauty.    After years of this type of exploration they start to fit together. One ending a mile or so from another and you start threading together a new path from a unfamiliar place to a new adventure. Sometimes to a little town of under five hundred that used to be something before the Interstate or some railroad or US highway bled the life out of it that has a small dinner with the greatest slice of pie you've eaten since grandma made her last. A little village museum or library or even a town square park with grand old oak, walnut and Osage orange trees to sit under while you sip you gas station coffee and chat up some locals.    Often they are full of stories about the main streets more interesting buildings and the who's who of the area. Sometimes some hidden attraction or unseen history. Our area is full of old coal mines.     A younger self used to do this going cross country by motorcycle. Only a general area as a destination with no time to get there and no time to be back. Sitting at days end in a 10 unit off the main highway motel under a Sycamore tree yacking with the owner or his one semipermanent guest while I adjusted valves or the chain. Always a wave and a shout "Hey there stranger"!  It's how I came by my love of old Brit iron. There is no such things as a ten minute gas stop when your on a Enfield or a vintage Triumph. Same being true of old cars.    If you take the time to really look I've found everywhere is someplace interesting. Illinois or West Virginia. Different and yet the same.    People are in a more relaxed mood and will talk about anything and everything and if they like you there may be a cupp'a or a lemonade and a sandwich in it. 😉
