Completely bummed.

I ordered a SLT 5.3L on October 15th. Was given a build date of Nov 18th. Received confirmation that the truck was built and the expected delivery to dealership was December 9th. December 9th came and went. I did an online chat with GM Canada today and they said it just left Mexico on Friday, December 13th. My dealer is unable to give me much information aside from saying it should be here any day now. The rep online said it would take 17 business days to get to the main GM facility in Southern Ontario and then would likely arrive at my dealership a few days later.

This is torture. I was really hoping to have it by now. Bummed. This is one time where I am hoping the person on the other end of the chat was wrong and that my truck will be here sooner. :)

HydrogenCyanide,

I ordered my SLT 5.3 CC on Oct 15th and it was built the week of Nov 18th too. It left Mexico on Dec 9th and arrived in Jacksonville, FL on Dec 10th. I'm 300 miles from the rail yard in Jax and neither GMC Chat nor my dealer can give me an estimated delivery date as of today. The dealer only said that once it's enroute they could notify me. That just means that I'll get about six hours notice at the maximum. All we can do is hang in there because we're a lot closer than most.

Yeah I agree that I wouldn't have the patience. I guess it would be one thing if you could build it exactly how you want it like the old days but with the option packages being the only choices I have just dealer traded and settled for a few things I didn't want (Never not getting something I did) Good Luck!

I ordered my 5.3 on 10/29. It had a TPW of 12/9 and delivery of 12/23. I picked it up yesterday, but it arrived on Saturday. I checked about 2-3 times per week earlier on since I knew it wouldn't get made extremely early. I checked in on it the Friday before my TPW, and it was in Laredo, TX. From then on, I talked with Chevrolet chat about 2-3 times daily. The earlier waiting is easy. When you know it is in the same state, that's when it gets rough.

What information do you need from the dealer to relay over to the GM folks for a status? Thus far I have been using the Chevy tracking site and hear say from my dealer. Thanks

On Dec.2nd, GM Live Chat told me my truck was expect to arrive by Dec. 15th. It actually arrived on Dec. 6th. So I don't know what they were basing their info on?!

The wait is truly PAINFUL. I waited over 9 weeks (ordered->delivered), and it felt like an eternity. Especially once I knew the truck was built and was "somewhere" in transit.

Once you get it, you'll appreciate it. Even though I was going stir-crazy for over 2 months, I'm glad I didn't settle on a truck that didn't meet all of my wants/needs (ie: bench vs. buckets, 3.08's, short box, etc.). Getting the truck optioned EXACTLY how you WANT is worth the wait (....so I was told! :D). Now that it's been in my hands for a few days, I can say that that is true.

Fingers crossed for a speedy delivery for you guys!! :)
