My LTZ Z71 6.2l order

So I was going to cancel my silverado order and buy a High Country that was on the lot.

 

 

My salesman called me back and said my truck order was picked up and has a TPW date of w/e 12/30

 

He thinks I'll have my truck in 2-3 weeks.

 

 

Anyone with any past experience or thoughts on when my truck will be delivered?

Its possible, I would say 4 wks is more likely at the earliest. Our 2008 Tahoe took less than 14 days (10-14 if I remember correctly) from when the order was placed to when it hit the dealers lot. It was built in WI and shipped to Indiana.

I ordered my LTZ 6.2L on October 22, 2013 and I'm STILL waiting so don't get too excited.

If my "ordering experience" is any indication I wouldn't count on it. Let me know when you get it though.

Is your dealer on constraint? Remember, there are two types of constrains. Manufactures & dealer. If the dealer is over the limit on Silverados, your order is not processed until they sell some stock and get eligible to take on new inventory, part of it being your order. Local high volume dealer here had a 170 day supply of Silverados in October and was still on constraint 3 weeks ago. They are not eligible to receive any 6.2L Silverados yet.

You'd think they would tell you that at the time you placed your order. Pretty deceptive, if true.

If the rebates are indeed going down I can't see the inventory problem changing.

It is a shell game. Rebates did not change. The money removed becomes a "factory to dealer rebate" and allows the dealer to discount the truck only when necessary for a non budging customer that wants a bottom line price.

 

 

How do we find out what the dealers are getting?

Constraints, supplier issues, blah, blah, blah. I sold my '07 in July, 2013, so I've been without a truck for quite a while. I've decided to quit getting myself all worked up over GM's ordering games and just wait. It'll be here sooner or later and until then there's really nothing I can do about it. I give up.

My ex nephew-in-law owns the dealership. Hopefully he won't try to hose his "old Uncle Tom". I've got my last 4 trucks from him with no problems so I assume it'll all work out.
