Mickey Thompson vs. BF Goodrich

I'm looking for some new tires for my 05 2500HD, I'm currently running Michelin LTX AT2's and they are pretty bald. What I'm looking for is a more aggressive tire like the BFG All Terrain or the Mickey Thompson ATZ. Both tires look pretty good but how do they compare otherwise. Which tire will outlast the other? Which tire is quieter, more comfortable, etc. Also how do the BFG Mud Terrain and the Mickey Thompson MTZ do on a daily driver, with the occasional off roading. Thanks.

My last set were mickeys and i loved them. Made the horrible mistake of putting goodyears on and i will be going back to mickeys.

I had Mickey Thompson MTZs on my TJ and i loved them. They were a mud tire rather than an AT, but they wore great, even commuting on them. They were quiet and a pretty comfortable (for a mud tire). The ATZ is on my short list of options for the new truck for sure.

It's hard deciding wether to spend the extra money on the MTZ or save some money for the All Terrain BFG on my daily driver. But I love the look of the MTZ and around here everybody has a BFG AT so I want to be different haha. I've heard the BFG is a soft tire so it wears out quick? How does the MTZ wear over a long period of time?

I commuted 90 miles a day on them, and I have no doubt i would have gotten 50k out of the MTZs with no problem. The only thing to keep in mind is that my Jeep was a much lighter vehicle than these trucks. The other thing to keep in mind is that they are *heavy* tires. 10-ply, Load range E rated. If you have any gas mileage concerns, they will definitely hurt it. If that doesn't matter, i can't recommend them strongly enough

Well I already get 10mpg so I mean it's already bad so I don't really care, I only drive to work and school and once a week highway so my daily commute is probably around 20 miles so I think the MTZ's could work well for me. I will have it off road occasionally too.
