If he needs the money sell it, if he's worried about them taking it then sell it to a relative for a dollar and keep it. Life is short and his may be shorter, he should cherish the people and things that he has, not worry about the money he doesn't have. I hope everything turns out OK.

Yes I know but he's gonna have to sell it. He's liquidating what he can. His physical therapy is going to run $6000 a month and he doesn't have any insurance.
