Windshield dings and such.

Okay. I have had the 2014 for the last four month and I've have gotten three windshield dings and one crack in the last 4 months. I'm 32 years old and I have never had 5 ding sings in my whole life (seriously 86 Buick, 90 mustang, 75 stingray, etc and now I have four in four months. The Capitol W t f. Quit the kidding is it aerodynamics or does this vehicle EAT rock than ever before . . .

Ibex, only had my 2014 silverado one month and I too have my first CHIP/Crack after 21 new cars in my life time and this happens after a month? Kinda makes ya wonder...

I just got a pretty big crack in mine the other day also. The rock didn't even sound like it hit that hard

About the same here... Not the first time I get windshield chip but getting a chip on my first brand new truck after a month kinda sucks. Can't get my eyes off of it

Those chips are the most annoying it's like you'd rather it crack and be done with it and get new glass.... But if you're talking this many... That wouldn't be cheap do you have a hood deflector? Maybe having one/ not having one will fix the issue

I thought it was thicker to block some noise? I know for sure it is slanted backwards (more of a slant) by a deg. or two than my 09. That said my 09 has had two windshields. Have not replaced any of my other rides windshields.

Glass is thinner for weight savings. More chips can be expected in return for better fuel mileage. Nothing in life is free.

It is just luck of the draw, hell the very first brand new car I bought was a 1997 mazda protege, on my way home from the dealership I got a rock in the windshield, it took about a month for the crack to run its course.

 

When I was living in Colorado we would go through a windshield just about every year it was always the debate to wait till after winter to get it replaced so you could have maybe 6 months of a nice windshield or before winter to get it replaced and not have the ice find as much purchase on the pitted glass.

it likely is thicker as they push more and more safety. That being said.. I have had two seperate incidents with rocks hitting my windshield at highway speeds over the last month. only a very small chip at the lower side of the windshield.. I honestly dont know how the windshield took it the last rock and didn't break...it hit hard

 

This would have never happened with my old truck... seems like everything is out to get the new shinny 2014.

Got a small chip in my windshield in the first week and I have a handful of pin hole sized chips already too. I didnt think much of it but out of my last 6 vehicles, the most ive ever had are scratches.

I've got a nice chip in mine that I'm hoping to get filled today. Mine is at least behind the rear view mirror so I can't see it while driving but the passenger can see it
