MP 3023 Transfer Case Noise

I had problems with my 2007 gmc Sierra shifting and finally determined it might be a broken snap ring on the output shaft of the transfer case. I had a family friend help me pull the transfer case and we found that it was the snap ring that was broke. The guy told me he would get it and put it back together for me. He put it together and when I drove it to work on Saturday it started clunking lightly half way to work. I took it back out myself and found that the guy used anaerobic sealer when he put the case back together and obviously used too much. The pick up line screen filter for the oil pump was caked in sealant. I thought I found the problem. Thank god. I ordered a new filter and put it back together tonight. Transfer case is still clunking maybe not as loud as before but it's not right. Is it possible it's still not pumping oil. Any ideas would be great. I don't know if I can afford a new transfer case.

it has to come out and apart again and have the pump removed and ripped apart (real easy) dont assume a t case yet ,,,replacement is only justified when the parts to fix it is more than the cost of a new or rebuilt unit....

i saw this on a 4l60 once up north when a customer bought one over the counter ,,,put it in ,,,it poured oil out of the back when the angle is severe ,,,he put a rag in the adaptor and drove it 30k KM and the deteriorated enough to go in the drain hole and into the filter inlet ,,,,cooked it ,,,

your family friend doesnt know wtf hes doing ,is he helping with the $$$$$$

So I'm getting pretty good at taking the t case in and out. Trying to stay positive.

The t case made no noise before it was pulled the first time and had the snap ring replaced. It just acted up intermittently shifting and the mph gauge reading zero.

When I pulled it apart the second time and seen the filter caked in sealer I assumed it wasn't getting oil. I have no idea how the pump works so I'm hoping best case scenario it might have ruined the pump and its not getting oil to all the parts like it should. I

I guess ill order a new pump. Looks like it slides right on the output shaft.

I hope this is it. I'm getting tired of taking this thing out of my truck. Well I guess it will be easier this time. Especially putting that $&@& case back together. :).

Will I see something wrong with the pump. Does it come apart. I haven't seen anything else wrong with any of the bearings or anything. I haven't seen any damage either.
