MP 3023 transfer case noise after replacing snap ring on output shaft.

I had problems with my 2007 gmc Sierra shifting and finally determined it might be a broken snap ring on the output shaft of the transfer case. I had a family friend help me pull the transfer case and we found that it was the snap ring that was broke. The guy told me he would get it and put it back together for me. He put it together and when I drove it to work on Saturday it started clunking lightly half way to work. I took it back out myself and found that the guy used anaerobic sealer when he put the case back together and obviously used too much. The pick up line screen filter for the oil pump was caked in sealant. I thought I found the problem. Thank god. I ordered a new filter and put it back together tonight. Transfer case is still clunking maybe not as loud as before but it's not right. Is it possible it's still not pumping oil. Any ideas would be great. I don't know if I can afford a new transfer case.

Sorry I don't have anything to add ... but I'm curious .. how many miles did you have on the truck when the problem started?

125000 miles. 2007 gmc Sierra new body style with the mp 3023 transfer case. I read somewhere that they started using a different snap ring on the output shaft sometime in 2008.
