Has anyone here done a ring and pinion swap on one of these yet. I am looking for some 4.10 or 4.56 possibly to get the RPM's up a bit for some 35's. I am also curious with the torque curve of the new motor if the 4.10's would be sufficient or should I go all out with the 4.56's. One more question, is the front diff the same as the 13 yr model? I have read a couple things that make me unsure of this.

It looks as if they are a little farther along with the 9.5 vs the 9.75. The only info I have been able to find is from East Coast Gear " http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/files/PDF%20Files/gm9-5-12-bolt.pdf " . From the info here the preferred method is to use the old style 9.5" carrier and gears and make it work but you have to install a spacer between the diff and the cover. I am hoping someone knows if someone is in the process of manufacturing gears that will work with the new carrier, if not I will go the route they are recommending. It really does pretty good right now so I can wait a bit if needed. I emailed Yukon but have not received a response yet.

That's fantastic info, CAtaylor! Thanks so much! I'm planning on swapping to a Trutrac diff anyway so it should be a pretty straightforward swap with their cover spacer.

Glad I could help. I have been searching every since I bought the truck and finally came across that a few days ago. I am more than likely going to go this route as well and it would be a good upgrade from the G80. I was going to run the G80 till it gave up but if someone doesn't hurry up with gears for the new carrier I will go ahead and upgrade. Does anyone have any info on the front diff? Is it the same as previous?

thanks for the information CAtaylor. i just it a wait and see what develops on the 9.75. I was hoping to regear when I did my lift but I guess it will be a wait and see.

Yep, i am tired of waiting as well for replacement gears for the new carrier. I am fixing to pull the trigger on a trutrac for the old 14 bolt and 4:56's all the way around. The front diff is the same as previous years. I have the quote setting in my in box just been trying to convince myself i need to spend the 1500 to get the parts. The carrier is the expensive part but it will be worth it in the long run, cant go wrong with a Detroit really.
