snarkee Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Found my first peeve about my 14 silverado. The snow sticks and packs inside the wheel wells to the carpet material like Velcro Seriously though, if this is my biggest issue I guess I'm lucky Love this truck!!!! pastduedate Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 “Sticks and packs inside the wheel wells to the carpet material like Velcro” Eell no! Sticks like hhit to a flannelette blanket! I’ve taken an ice chisel to mine a couple of times. Like I’m talking shovel loads. I’m just scared with a that crap glued to liner and rubbing the tire plus limited rotation while steering that eventually something is going to grab and start ripping stuff off. Fyi, mud flaps make it worse. Unless I hear other ideas, I think next fall I’ll try a liberal coating of spray silicone.Desprate for ideas. I’m sure the owners down south experience the same problem with dust …………………………………. Hehe. But!! Still not ready to get rid of “her”. She knows who is still in charge.

02SierraZ71 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 i agree, the felt like liners are supposed to be sound deadening maybe they are, but they also provide a good surface for the snow, slush, ice to stick to

Pathor Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I moved from a car to a truck and I have been thrilled that I don't have snow caked in the wheel wells. Cars are so annoying in the snow. Bad traction, low clearance, ice and snow buildup in the wheel wells. I've heard people complain that these wheel wells are too square but I like the extra room to prevent snow and ice buildup.
86583 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I live on the west coast and that was the first thing I noticed was how the needles from fir tree's really loved to stick to that liner
