Removing the stake hole covers in 2014 Silverado Bed Rail Caps

Hello - I just traded my 2009 Silverado for a 2014 model. I had installed Bull Ring pop-up tie downs in the stake holes on my old truck and the covers in the bed rails for the holes popped right out. It looks like the OEM bed rail caps for the 2014 model are molded into the cap itself. Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the stake hole covers witouth totally messing up the bed rail cap?

Very very carefully with a box cutter lol. Also, GM does make in bed upper tie downs for these trucks. The rear stake pocket is shaped for a hand grip for the corner step so I dont think top mounted tie downs will work anymore. Those 9 black pieces around the top of the inside of the bed are the tie down holes you can use.

23146899 is the part number for the hooks.

I don't know about the size of the hole under the molded retangular outline because I haven't gotten the courage up to cut it yet. I did get the OEM in-bed tie downs that screw into the inner bed panels and the work great. They are high enough that I can reach them while standing outside the truck and you can tighten them to have the tie down holes lie flat or vertical - depending on your preference Unfortunately, the spray in bed liner was applied and the dealer forgot to tell the bedliner company to take out the plugs for the holes, so I had to go back to them and they cut the liner off around the plug holes so I could screw in the tie downs. They did a good job and the tie downs look and work great.
