Mud flap installation Question

I just installed some OEM mud flaps on my Silverado. I drilled a small hole in the wrong place on the underside of the rear fender. It's completely out of sight in an area where it's not even painted. I put some lithium white grease all over it to try to keep it from rusting. Should I do anything else?

grease will go away after awhile I would try some clear silicone so it has a tight seal and you wont have to worry about it.

 

Considering your in Texas also you probably don't even have to worry about it unless you drive on the beach a lot. Silicone for just a little extra reassurance...
