new truck ordered...

I’m new here. I posted a short intro in the new-members forum: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/158588-new-member-from-mid-michigan/

I just placed my order for a new 2014 GMC Sierra last week. It is a 2WD SLE double-cab in Summit White. I originally had my dealer find one for me with just the SLE-Value-pkg. When it came time to close the deal I realized I wanted more.

A 2014 Sierra SLE w/ the SLE Value pkg is a pretty sweet rig in my world but there are three other major options that will make my special-order worth waiting for:

-bucket seats/heated seats/center console

-20” wheels

-Z71 suspension pkg

This is more truck than I ever dreamed I would own. I can hardly wait. Wish I knew how long it will take.

These photos are from the GMC build and price site.

fog lights of the Value pkg are not shown here:

The center-console / bucket seat option isn't added often on SLEs. I'm not trying to create the poor man's Denali, just a more effective and beautiful space for two people.

Congrats! the SLE is what I have (although mine's a 10) and it's got more features than I could want... That center console is going to be nice too... I still kick myself.... when I bought my 10 there was a 2500 with the center console and the dealer told me as long as I didn't screw up anything I could swap it into my truck.... coming from a LS Truck, the center seat console was a big improvement so I passed.... wish I hadn't

anyways Congrats again and looking forward to when you get the truck.....

Did you get the V6?

Yes, mine will have the V6. I didn’t really mention it though because I get the impression that the V8s are considered to be the obvious choice here. I understand why too. The V8 in my current truck, 2004 Silverado 2WD shortbox shortcab, is pure joy in action and voice. For my purposes I never need that much power, but it’s so satisfying to hear it roar when pushed.

V6 engines in pick-ups have never looked good to me until this year’s EcoTec3 V6. I could have very easily afforded the V8 and the extra fuel it might burn. That just isn’t how I operate. I take driving very seriously but I focus more on efficiency and effectiveness. I’m more inclined to using hyper-miling techniques than to putting down the power hot-rod style. Now that the General is offering a direct-injected six in a full size truck, it was an easy choice for me.

PickUPS,

Hey there! You must be very excited waiting for your vehicle order to be built and delivered to your local dealership. The process from when you order your vehicle until the vehicle is delivered to your dealership usually takes any where from six to twelve weeks give a take. I would be happy to give you updates on your order status. Please private message including order number.

Take care,

Congrats on your new truck order. The wait will stink, but the result will make you smile.
