Engine whinning when cold. 2014 Sierra A/T bad engine whine when cold. I did fist oil change at 1500 miles used AC Delco 0w20 With Ac delco pf63 filter. At 4500 miles changed again but used mobil1 0w20 and k&n ( HP-2011) filter. The next morning let truck warm up for about 2 minutes drove off and No Whine. Not sure if it's the high flow filter that fixed the issue but the whine is gone. No other problems with truck it's been problem free.

Welcome to the forum! The engine whine is interesting, I haven't had that issue with mine. How cold of weather?

Jeff it was about 20 degrees and also before oil and filter change oil pressure stayed at 40 psi now it will drop a little below 40 psi at idle and when accelerating it oil pressure will go 50-60 psi

I have a customer with a 2014 Silverado 5.3L 120K and is experiencing a whine noise from the engine oil pan area. At first it seemed to be coming from trans bell housing but we disconnected the torque converter & removed all the belts and started the engine still a whine from the small oil pan area. Anybody experience this?
