March incentives

I've found that normally dealers don't budge on either Suppliers or Employee Pricing as their supposed to be selling programs offered through GM. I offered my dealer $1K under the Suppliers price, and the only way he could technically sell me the truck was to charge me the Suppliers Price amount, minus applicable rebates and send me a check back trough the mail for $1K. You can always offer, but expect them to say no on employee pricing.

I have my dealer working on a quote for me right now for a CC 4WD 6.2 - I have employee pricing and have ballparked the current incentives to be around $6,000. Since I am using the EP method, is there going to be any room for negotiation on the price after this discount and the incentives? Are the dealers actually allowed to negotiate actual sale price at this point, or is the EP and incentives the "final word"?

My theory is, that I can get employee pricing and the incentives from any dealer - but what can THIS dealer do for me to make the sale? Thoughts?

Yes, there is still room for them to negotiate. You can always get them to throw in some dealer add-ons in order to seal the deal. Get your best price from them, then make it look like you are thinking it over real hard, then make a counter-offer. Offer them a couple hundred less than the price they are giving you and ask for a bedliner also. The worst that can happen is they say no. The best is they say yes.

They always want you to think that the latest/current sale is going to be the lowest price of the year, but as any honest salesman will tell you.. the price of a new vehicle does NOT go up as the model year goes on, it only goes down. The longer you can wait to buy a vehicle, the cheaper it will be.

You said you bought your truck a few months ago and got $8K off MSRP.

I just bought my truck last week. We started negotiating at $9K off MSRP, and by the time I signed, we were over $10K off the MSRP and they also threw in $600 - $700 worth of dealer add-ons too.

I'm sure a poster in another month or two will be talking about their deal where they got $12K off MSRP....

Until the 2015'sare out and then guys will be bitching about only getting $5K off MSRP again, and the process will start all over again, haha.

Yes true.....I'm sure if I really wanted to push the matter, I could of got close to another $1K off my price, but I was dealing with a dealer 600 miles away. You're right, it's really a matter of how patient you are to wait and when you buy. My dealer threw in some free add ons too... free tint, the GM drop in bedliner, which I scrapped for Line-X and the molded mud flaps. Used to be, buying at the end of the calendar year was one of the best time to buy.....now not so much, it's really at the end of the model production year. As someone mentioned earlier, someone who buys later in the year will get a better price, you'll just make yourseld mad contemplating it well after the fact. Soemthing else, have you looked at TruCars...they supposedly list what people are actually paying, which is way higher than what many here have been posting.

Where did you learn math? $49K minus $10K is $39K....where do you get $33K? Comb through this very thread several members have been able to get $10K off MSRP. If the dealers are offering supplier pricing, that's anywhere between $4K-$6K off MSRP. Add in $4500 in rebates and dealer cash and you're in the ballpark of $10K. I got $8K off MSRP right after Christmas....and i know i easily left $1K on the table, but i was comfortable with the price.

I think you said 10K before rebates and incentive Steve. I think 49K minus 10k minus 5.9K (incentives and rebates) equal 33.1K

By the way I also had 2.3K in GM rebates. MS in Mathematics from SCSU in 1974.

Some have been able to get $10K off before the current incentives...should be doable barring you know how to negotiate and have some patience.

This is what I actually said Jim.......You misunderstood what I said....meaning, folks have been able to get $10K off before the current run of incentives (Agreed price - rebates)

I'll have to defer to my Phd wife. Current incentives would mean on March 02,2014. my mistake.

    • Thanks, so being a different beast altogether, anyone know what the "optimal" temp is for the 10L80/90 for proper shifting?
    • How many years have I pointed out every point in that link to the folks here and been avalanched with criticisms and outright hostilities at times? I ran counter to even the great CUSTOMBOSS and Lake Speed Jr and the half dozen experts on YouTube and in the final.....GM, Physics (Stribeck) backs that Grumpy old Bear.    Honestly, I never said a thing engineering hadn't studied silly and laid in concrete during WWII. But I'm old, the information is old and yet, the Laws of Physics are eternal.    Okay there is one exception. I vehemently disagree with their use of the word 'tolerances' when what it meant is "clearance".   The clearance is the distance between two objects. The tolerance is the degree of acceptable variation permitted in that clearance. I.E., piston to bore clearance is 0.004" with a tolerance of +/- .0002" so the clearance is in specification if it lies between 0.0038" and 0.0042". Cutting that 'tolerance in half has ZERO impact on lubrication requirements. Makes for more difficulty in manufacturing.  But a tighter clearance 'MAY'. Depends on finish. Anyway....   It's one of those statements made by people to make themselves look smarter than they are to convince people who are as un-enlighten as they seem to manipulate their behaviors. But hey, the blind leading the blind puts them both in the pit.
    • Out and about yesterday on a long Saturday drive I passed a lot of Shell stations. My preferred, so I pay attention. Lot's of small town Illinois so not six stations in three blocks like the city.    Everyone of them over a radius of say 100 miles had regular at $4.19 but one which was the one closest to home at $4.15. However Premium pricing varied greatly between 85 cents over regular to $1.50 over. I'm not counting the price of the station with the lowest regular so the reference is the same for the remainder and all within the same brand. However the spread discrepancy holds across all brands.     @txab, any thoughts on that?
    • What are your thoughts? The Chevy Blazer relaunch was an epic case of 'lunchbag letdown'. Jeep Wranglers and Ford Broncos stick out like a sore thumb.    The AI photos do not look like a 'retro version', but shrunken Tahoes. Get away from the 'futuristic look'. I've seen two concepts. One had rectangular headlight like a Rivian and the other way to big should include dual round headlights like the early version.   If not this would look OK   At least it has GM styling (albeit the K2XX) A lot of the images floating around look like Bronco IIs or the current Bronco. Looking at the Broncos in my area (central Ontario, it seems to be a mix of 2 doors and 4 doors, 'mall rated' to ones that could go offroad.    I'm sure a AT4 and AT4X RPOs could be outfitted similar to a Rubicon if the braintrust understood the whole offroad scene. Crosing my fingers that if it does see the light that the front air dam/bumper doesn't extend below the center line of the tire...
