Ordered my 2014 Sierra

Coming from an Acadia, we ordered yesterday. The Dealer couldn't find one with the options I wanted so did a factory order. Decided on the Iridium Metallic (dark grey) after considering Black and the Stealth Grey metallic.

The ~8 week wait is going to kill me.

 

Plans are to get a travel trailer and needed something to tow more than the Acadia's 4500lbs. First plans for the truck are Line-X and a some kind of folding bed cover.

Well I got notice today that my truck was built last week.

 

Unfortunately it was built without the power sliding rear window which was part of the "All Terrain SLT Crew Cab Plus" package when we ordered. On GM's build page this is now a separate option no longer included in this package and has to be selected separately.

 

Now the dealer is looking again for one locally, or they are going to have to submit a new order which puts me 5 full weeks behind schedule.

Bummer that you are set back on delivery. I think I would just delete the power sliding rear window, seems like something I could do without. Just saying, order up what you want.

Just found out mine was built ladt week 4/15 ordered 3/28. Ordered the rear slider hope it comes with it or my dealer is going too have one more truck on there lot.

Same date mine my first one was built, hoping yours comes as ordered but I'm guessing you don't receive the rear window.

If it's an SLT and the slider was ordered it should be installed. The restriction was lifted (for SLT only) in early March.

So we're 6 weeks into the second order - at this point with the first order the truck was on its way and was delivered at about 7 weeks.

 

After numerous emails and requests, I have been informed that my truck is slated to be produced this week and should then take about 2 weeks to arrive, putting me at abut 9 weeks total since the order. We're planning a lengthy road trip for the summer and had planned to leave at the end of the month so I hope it arrives in time.

 

Why the dealer wont get back to be without me hounding them I'll never know, but I do know it will certainly influence their survey results when the truck does come in.

Finally!

 

My truck arrived at the dealership today - a full 13 weeks to the day after the first order went in. They're putting 3M on the front end in the morning and I am picking it up Wednesday afternoon! I already have a Bakflip Fibermax and a BakBox waiting in my garage to install as well when I get it home.

 

We're leaving on a 3000mi road trip on Saturday so it will be nice to cancel the rental Tahoe and see how the truck performs. Going to Moab and Denver, going to be awesome!
