2002 Sierra 1500 5.3 dying and random no start

The early morning cold engine problem is likely the intake gaskets. Once the engine warms up a little it seals off and runs fine. Could probably use a throttle body cleaning also.

If there's not a security light on when it wont start, then you may have a starter or relay issue.I would pay particular attention to the driver info center and see if that security light ain't flashing.

I have not checked into intake gaskets I will take a look into that. Throttle body being dirty was my very first guess, the person that owned the truck before me put a spacer on it, took it off and gave it a nice cleaning.

The security light flashes like it normally does through it all. Nothing abnormal comes up on the info center I just had the one code that said I had a small evap leak that I found.

Right now I have been leaning towards a fuel pressure problem. I live in a town with one small parts store so getting my hands on a tester takes some time.

This is ridiculous, I started this to get some opi ions from people with hopefully similar issues. Not for you to diagnose my problem over the internet. Please stop commenting if you don't have something to help me. I don't need life lessons from you. Obviously I don't need you to comment anymore. You gave your whirl at it and I thank you for trying but enough please stop following this thread. There was no reason for your previous post as it has no relation what so ever, if I wanted drama I would have posted this on Facebook instead.

If this is you not taking it personally, as I explained twice, then I am not so sure it is me with issues. I try to help you understand why people are not lining up to help, turns out I didn't need to, you just showed why they aren't. Hope you life goes better that it has here.

You obviously have nothing better to do with your life than to pester people on the internet. I was not expecting an answer right away you seem to be the only person with problems as I said if you don't like how I'm "talking" please leave. I'm in no means a hurry to fix my problem if I was I wouldn't post on a discussion forum. My previous posts are made from a phone which is the reason for short responses. If I wanted life lessons I would go to my parents not some person on an ask the technician forum that's obviously bored with their life to sit here and pester me. No I'm not taking it personally I find you extremely annoying to post something irrelevant to this forum completely.

I don't live close to a dealer or I would which is why I'm trying to find someone with the same problem. Have also tried local shops with nothing.

No one ever says my truck has done the same thing ., that's why no one has , I've been here a day or 2 and it seems you are at the end of your patients and stuff inside the wallet , don't bark at me either ,I'm trying to help , (as is Doug)

Not one mention if a scanner was ever hooked up , not one mention of the starter cable on starter getting any physical attention ,

I said MAF because a low idle is caused by a dirty MAF so don't just blow that off , it happens ALL the time

Fuel pressure and filter , blow thru it after it's off for an idea how plugged they can get compared to a new , I've passed out trying to blow thru fuel filters

Good luck let us know what ya find or we won't hear from you again ,(it happens)

Its not the maf because I already cleaned it. Its not the fuel filter because its brand new. The starters contact have been cleaned and its been tested a few times by different people. I actually haven't put money into it other than routine main thence stuff so I'm not really out anything. The only thing not routine was the ignition but it locked up awhile ago. Just all the different possibilities can get expensive.

Doug tried to help at first then went on about how I wrote, I get defensive because I am a woman in a mans world and I don't like being talked to like I'm a child, but I am done with this forum. If I figure it out and remember I'll post what fixed the problem.

Good luck and as always we get the rest of story thru more conversing , people never mention the whole story.... Odd really .
