If you don't mind me asking, what was the time line from order to getting it? I order my truck on 3-4-14, built on 3-24-14 and setting in the parking lot in Mexico waiting to be shipped. 6.2 with 3.42 LTZ.

Initial order on Jan 31st. Accepted by GM on 2/12. Built on 3/6. Shipped on 3/10. Arrived 3/24(based on PDI report I found). Picked up 3/26.

Nice looking truck! I concur with the power when you roll out and drop the hammer :driving: I also agree they wind out pretty quick. Just don't stick it in manual and think you can shift it fast enough LOL bounced mine off the limiter taking a buddy for a ride. They just kind of shut off then come back on after it completes the shift.

I did take a another buddy of mine who is in his mid 60s for a ride the other day. He was really impressed with how quick the truck was (he has a stout 540 cubic inch big block in his 69 Camaro so he has an idea about quick street cars) said he hadn't been for a ride like that since high school. We did a couple stoplight to stoplight shots I can say the brakes will bring it back down pretty quick too :D

Thx! Yeah I could see that happing. The brakes do feel pretty solid enough to stop it well.

a 2014 Irridium Metallic GMC Sierra SLT DC 6.2L 4x2 3.73 Max Tow 20" luxory beast! And yes it feels like luxory and its got some balls to it! I'm completely blown away by this truck. And I got an amazing deal with rebates and selling price.

Initial Pros: It feels super super rock solid, super quiet, just amazing ride, great power, nice bells and whistles, really really nice interior quality, seats and steering wheel feel great, love the instrument, ac and radio layout, throttle feels responsive and there is defintely some power to be had.

Initial Cons: The electrochromatic outside mirror is not complete so there is a gap of reg mirror left. It's just odd and will take a bit to get used to. Why not cover the whole mirror? Also the actual control of the radio system is a lil bit off from smooth but not bad. Meaning it's gonna take a lil bit to get used to. And shifting is a lil goofy feeling but I'm sure it will clean up with driving.

A few mods and accessories to come but not much! :driving:

Congrats! I bought a brand new 13 Equinox LTZ a few months ago and it shifted like garbage, slipping into gears, searching for gears, etc.. for about 3k miles and then worked great.. My 14 Silverado shifted even worse when it had 8 miles on it, and I am at 4900 miles now and it's just now starting to be near perfect with it's shifting.. However, I am not sure if anyone else has noticed, I notice even the slightest of sounds, but if you are in a very quiet place, and have the windows down once in a while when stopping or taking off you can hear some ticking or clicking noises from what sounds like the bottom of the trans (My guess from inside the truck).. Not sure what it is, but I can tell these 6spd trans have some real quirks about them.. Overall not bad though.

Thx! I remember when GM started running the 6spd auto trans and having this same quirkiness in the beginning. My G8 had the 6L80 as well and had none that I can recall though. It's really not bad and actually driving today a few miles I barely noticed. Loving this power though!

Hi David, What is the PDI report that you listed in post #16? Do you have a link?

It was a piece of paper I found inside the bag of manuals. I'm assuming it was the dealers as it showed delivered on the 24th but it wasn't much of anything filled out on it.

Congratulations!

Now, how in the world did you get it for under $40k? That's a crazy good deal. What was your out the door price?

Rebates are only 1750 for the truck now, right? So where did the other 8k+ in discounts come from?

MSRP was $45,530. Truck was sold to me at invoice ($42,167) less whatever rebates are in effect. I went in thinking I would only get the $1750 currently active this month but as my salesman started keying in the purchase another $500 popped up. It was specific to certain resident areas. So I scored almost $5700 off which put me a tick under my $40k goal of buying a new truck!! The financing was a score too as I got 2.90 financing for 72mo. Just an awesome deal and experience!! To be able to order this truck to my desire and meet a goal of what I was wanting to buy it for is a great feeling!
