2005 2500HD Center Caps

Newb here. Did a search, but didn't find anything on the issue I am having with stock center caps.

 

Fronts rattle like crazy so before I go nuts (pun) what will I be looking for? Caps held on by clips or nuts? Any fixes?

 

Going to tackle it this weekend one way or the other.

The center caps are held on by the plastic "nuts" that cover the real lug nuts. They are the fake plastic lug nuts. So you unscrew the eight plastic "lug nuts" then you can take off the center cap that covers the real lug nuts under it.

Also the center caps on the steel wheels are slightly different that the ones on the aluminum rims. They look the same but are not. I was wondering if you might have the wrong type on your wheels???
